Crock Pot Shrimp Boil is a classic shrimp boil with shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn in a flavorful buttery broth cooked in a slow cooker.
This easy dinner can be put together in about 10 minutes. Then, the crock pot does all the work. The broth is so flavorful and perfect for sopping up with some good crusty bread.
How To Make Crock Pot Shrimp Boil
Note: This is a summary. The full printable recipe and step by step video are located at the bottom of this post.
- Add chicken broth to a large slow cooker.
- Add minced garlic, old bay seasoning (no affiliation), cajun seasoning, dried parsley, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Whisk it all together.
- Add sliced onion.
- Add baby yellow potatoes, and frozen half ears of corn on the cob.
- Stir to coat the vegetables in the sauce and seasoning.
- Top the vegetables with a layer of sliced smoked or cajun sausage and pats of butter.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook.
- Add shrimp and lemon juice.
- Stir well.
- Cover and cook until the shrimp is cooked through.
- Serve with lemon wedges and crusty bread for dipping.
Is It Spicy?
If you like your shrimp boil spicy, use a spicy cajun sausage and add cayenne pepper. If you want a more mild shrimp boil, skip the cayenne and use smoked sausage. Taste your cajun seasoning to see how spicy it is. The spice level of different cajun seasonings can vary greatly.
How To Store
A shrimp boil is best served immediately, but leftovers will keep in a sealed container in the refrigerator for three days.
